Our Mission Is Simple!
Help the dogs!

After seeing so many unhappy dogs in pounds and wanting to take them all home, and then hurricane Katrina hitting and seeing the devastation of what that brought to the dog world, my conscience could no longer stay silent doing nothing.

Then one day last fall, I was asked by one of the local shelters to help out with an emergency situation with a small Maltese that they rescued from a puppy mill. Well this was my breaking point. I took this little guy in who had lived in a puppy mill knowing nothing more about life but to live in a crate and occasionally being let out to do his studly duty. When I got him, he was filthy, covered in sores from laying in his own fecal matter and urine. His paws were sore from the wire cages and he was beyond terrified. I quickly gave him a nice warm bath, and gently put some salve on his wounds. I set up a very large crate in my bedroom right by my bed, so he could watch me and feel safe for the first time in his life. I put the coziest bed in there and a clean water dish and some very good kibble. He ate and drank like there was no tomorrow and then he laid down on the softest bed he had ever known. He fell asleep and I think that poor little guy slept for a week. I could tell he felt safe and was finally able to sleep. We still had a long way to go, but in the end, he became a much healthier, stronger and emotionally stronger dog. He learned how to walk on a leash and feel the lush grass beneath him. He learned what a treat was and all the wonderful things that us pet lovers love to give our pets.

But my mission couldn't stop there. I had to think of how I could help more than one dog at a time. So after months of praying and thinking I came up with Rescuefido.com

A vision I give to God as he gives all we have. Now I start my venture into the world to help those who cannot help themselves. Will I be successful? I hope so. My success will depend on the shelters and Rescues and the advertisers that participate. Together we can all make a difference. So far RescueFido.com has been met with 100 percent positive comments and participation. I thank you all for that.

Keep checking back with me as I will update you all on our achievements all the way around. God Bless the doggies of the world!

Hi Everyone,
Here I am a year later with my site being on the worldwide web for over a year now. Never a negative comment to me always positive. But what have we accomplished? Well I am learning everyday about the dog resuce world. I am learning that it is HARD, very HARD work.. And it takes a very REAL and emotional drain on ones inner being. But it also has it's rewards. Rescuefido is evolving. I thought it would turn into something more like a
petfinder for the rescue world. But I quickly learned that the rescues are so busy taking care of dogs, rescuing them, finding fosters, finding money to feed and vet them, that they don't have time to even have web sites in lots of cases nor do they have the time or resources to list the most recent dogs they have taken in. So how has that affected Rescuefido? It has made it hard to get the latest information on the most recent adoptable dogs. In the meantime other things began to happen.

I get a call one day, can I help find a home for a dog at an animal pound that will be put down in two days? Oh my gosh I will try. I put emails out to all the rescues listed on my site. I am up until 2am doing this and the next morning when i wake up and log onto my computer i have 5 emails from various rescues saying they can take him! Praise God a dog got saved that week. Well before I know it, this is where Rescuefido is evolving. It appears that my mission with this site it to be a go between for the shelters, animal
control, and rescues and end adopters to help save animals. So with that in mind, keep checking back as the evolution of change is accomplishing some great things. I will be adding suggestion panels, blogs, you name it.

Some of you may have asked your self, why I have not formed a non profit? LOL, I ask my self that. I don't know if it is a good thing or bad for what I am doing. I want to make sure it doesn't restrict me in any way to help save a dogs life. So if any of you have wondered why I am not a 501 that is why. Will that change? Maybe... stay tuned....
